When we were at Maana, we had the ten year jubilee menu, four courses with accompanying wines. The food was good, unpretentious (which is a virtue, in my eyes) and well prepared: a simple, well made salad dressing (and no sugar! Not that I belong to the anti sugar brigade, but salad dressing without sugar is rather rare in Budapest), a rather authentic minestrone and a leg of duck with tender meat and a crispy skin, and nice, flavourful beans (it was called bean risotto, but reminded me of Hungarian-Jewish solet) to accompany the duck. The special menu was certainly worth its money and the wine menu was fine too. Service was nice and attentive, and despite us ordering the special menu, not hurried. It has to be said, the place was far from full, and everybody else seemed to have the jubilee menu too.
Despite that, I would not return there very soon, and the location of the restaurant main reason. It is true, that location is one of its kind, but such is not always a recommendation. In this case, the fact that the restaurant is directly above the entrance of the tunnel makes the terrace a very noisy (and I suspect not too healthy) place to sit. Yesterday, the weather was cool, we were sitting inside, which was really fine. So on a cool day, Manna is a fine place to go for some very nice food. But I would not recommend going there on a hot summer day.
