Welcome to Mezzo Music Restaurant. We are happy that you have chosen our place, and we hope that you will enjoy your time spent with us.
Our restaurant's history started 16 years ago, with the opening of the John Bull Pub. Over the years, we became a fixture of restaurant life in Buda and enjoyed watching many people become our regular guests and friends. Even so, times change, and we decided to close the chapter on John Bull Pub and to start a new adventure: the Mezzo Music Restaurant.
The goal of our new adventure is to keep the things that made the John Bull Pub a favourite: decent prices, great quality, and select dishes - while introducing new and exciting tastes prepared by our new chef, Roland Varga, and in a completely redesigned environment.
On our menu, you'll find many classic Hungarian dishes prepared with a twist, as well as more exotic fares inspired by Oriental cuisines. Let our waiters recommend the right dish for you. While our goal is to be modern, we believe that good food still means a hearty portions and harmonizing flavours. Our goal is not to be surprising just for the sake of surprise, but to add to your gustatory pleasures.
As for our décor, we drew our ideas from elements of the Art Deco movement and the smouldering colours of the jazz age. One of our goals while dreaming up Mezzo, was also to convert our noisy terrace to a calm atrium, where locals and visitors may enjoy a relaxing breakfast after a walk in the park or just before work. We think that we have succeeded in doing both, but we will let you be the judge.
And, as mentioned before, we made sure to keep alive the things that made the John Bull Pub so beloved. Therefore, you will surely be able to enjoy the smooth jazz sounds of György Vukán every Monday evening as well as some of the rising stars of the Budapest jazz scene.
